Texas High Educator Nominee for Student Council Adviser of the Year
A Texas High educator is being recognized in connection with her work with student leaders at T-High.
Susan Waldrep, Student Council Adviser for Texas High School, has been named the Texas nominee for the National Association of Student Councils Region 8 Warren Shull National Adviser of the Year. She now moves forward to compete against the other states in Region 8 which include Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi
Waldrep has served as Texas High’s Leadership Teacher and Student Activities Coordinator for the past 16 years and has guided her council to nine consecutive National Gold Council of Excellence Awards and 29 consecutive District 19 Sweepstakes Awards. Additionally, the Texas High School Student Council has served as District President and Treasurer as well as TASC President, Vice President, Secretary and Conference Coordinator School.
Waldrep’s leadership has been recognized through her selection as District 19 Adviser of the Year in 2011, Past President Adviser, District Coordinator for 2014-16 and most recently the Texas Association of Student Councils Eddie G. Bull State Adviser of the Year.
The Warren E. Shull Award is given to the high school student council adviser who demonstrates exemplary character, leadership and commitment to young people and their development as student leaders.
