Concord Public Schools in Cleburne County were placed on lockdown yesterday, Wednesday, April 24, after a high school student committed suicide on campus.

According to the Heber Springs Sun Times, school district superintendent, Micheal Davidson, a student killed himself in a cafeteria bathroom. David said the custodian reported that he or she heard a gunshot and when they went to the bathroom there were no other students around.

A representative from the Sheriff's Department had the following to say:

The school is working with us to release the students and inform the parents as soon as possible.

We will keep you posted as more information is released. In the meantime, pray for this child's family.
