Baseball Comes to a Quiet End

This just completed edition of the World Series, probably was the worst in many years.Obviously if you are a San Francisco Giants fan you will beg to differ with that opinion. However, it's hard to imagine anyone other than a die hard Giants fan not thinking the same thing.

After last year's thrilling seven game win by St. Louis over Texas, this year's four game sweep was pretty boring. The Detroit Tigers did not put up much of a fight, in a series of low scoring affairs. The series seemed anti-climatic after the Giants come from behind wins over Cincinnati and St. Louis in the earlier rounds of the playoffs went the distance.

Of course I am tainted a bit when it comes to the Giants. Two years ago they beat the Rangers in the World Series, and this year they cost my beloved Cardinals a second consecutive title. St. Louis should have won that series, but the Giants wanted it more and they seemed to have everything going their way in the final three games (just ask Hunter Pence).

But congrats to a fine baseball man, Giants manager Bruce Bochy on two Series titles in the past three years. I just hated for the series to be a sweep and the season to end so quietly.  I already can't wait for opening day come next April.
