Blade Runner 2049 sure seems like it’s planning to turn the whole Blade Runner mythos on its head. All of the promotional material has been teasing some kind of revelation that’ll change the future world of replicants forever, but we still have no idea what this revelation will be. What we do know is it definitely has something to do with Harrison Ford’s Rick Deckard, who seems to have been in hiding ever since the events of the original film.

From the new TV spot, it looks as if Ryan Gosling’s Officer K has been tasked with finding Deckard so that Niander Wallace (Jared Leto) can make more replicants. Because apparently something is stopping him from doing so? And Deckard has the “key”? Is there more to making a replicant than there seems to be? What is this “war” Robin Wright keeps warning about? Where is Gaff and his little origami creatures?

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

All questions are sure to be answered once Blade Runner 2049 hits theaters on October 6.
