Bruno Mars Dominates American Music Awards
While the 2017 American Music Awards featured a number of memorable moments last night, including an energetic performance from Khalid and Imagine Dragons and a Lifetime Achievement Award for Dianna Ross, Bruno Mars had a stellar night, picking up seven awards.
Although he wasn't on hand to pick up the awards, Bruno was the night's clear winner, dominating the win category off the strength of his popular 2016 album, 24K Magic. All in all, Bruno picked up awards for Favorite Artist of the Year, Favorite Male Artist Pop/Rock, Favorite Album Pop/Rock, Favorite Male Artist Soul/R&B, Favorite Album Soul/R&B, Video of the Year and Favorite Song Soul/R&B for "That's What I Like."
Bruno has had much success at music award shows this year, scoring major nominations at the BET Awards (which he kicked off with an electric live performance of "Perm"). He's also had success at the MTV VMAs and the MTV EMAs.
Back in April, Bruno made chart history when he tied Timberlake for the most No.1 singles among male soloists on Billboard's Pop Songs airplay chart with his huge hit single "That's What I Like." Mars' 24K Magic album was No.1 album for eight consecutive weeks.
