Chili Cook-off & More at ‘Saturday in The Park’ This Saturday in DeKalb
The temperatures are cooling off a bit and it's the perfect time to get outdoors. If your looking for something fun to do then this Saturday, September 25 be sure and head on over to Dekalb, Texas for their Saturday in The Park festivities including a chili cook-off.
Start the Morning With The 5K Run
It all starts at 8AM with the 5K run which starts and ends at the State Bank and it's sponsored by the DeKalb Bear Booster Club.
Donut Eating Contest at 9 AM
At 9 AM get ready for a Donut Eating Contest with three age categories: 3 to 5 years, 6 to 10 years of age and 12 years and up. Starting at 9AM registration for the softball tournament begins.
Cornhole & Pumpkin Decorating Contests & Stick Horse Races
At 12 PM the DeKalb Fire Department will have its Cornhole Tournament. There will also be a Pumpkin Decorating Contest where the winner will be based on who gets the most donations. There will also be a Critter Show, Stick Horse Races and more fun for the kids.
Chili Cook-off and Supper
Chili Cook-off teams check-in and starts cooking at 8 AM. Then everyone can enjoy the chili when the Chili Supper gets started at 4 PM. There is a charge of $5 per person and the Chili Cook-Off Winners will be announced at 4:30 PM
