Crawfish Street Party Downtown to Benefit Be the Blessing Bakery in Texarkana on Saturday

Get ready for a good old fashioned Crawfish Street Party at Hopkins Icehouse in downtown Texarkana at 5PM Saturday for a good cause.

Come out and enjoy some delicious crawfish, sausage, potatoes, and corn for only $25 with all proceeds going to Be the Blessing Bakery of the Randy Sams Outreach Shelter. If you don't want to eat, the cost is just $10 to get in the door and enjoy live music from local favorites Taryn & Jase with the headliner act Mike Mayberry & The Slow Hands from Hot Springs, Ark.

You'll also have a chance to win some really nice door prizes as well.

"All the proceeds of this fundraiser will go directly toward Be the Blessing Bakery of the Randy Sams' Outreach Shelter," said event coordinator Jill McMahon. "Cathy Smith does an amazing job."

Jennifer Laurent, Executive Director of Randy Sams' Outreach Shelter, said the money raised from this event will go toward the shelter's job training program.

"Be the Blessing Bakery is still in its infancy and we are thankful to all those who support it. The program is meant to give our residents a way to gather job skills, help strengthen the local workforce for the wonderful employers in our community and any funds that are over costs to help support our emergency shelter program. Donations make it possible for us to build and strengthen this program, thus allowing us to better meet the need of a region that gives so much to us.

"Our Shelter and its programs depend so much on the generosity of our community. We are forever grateful for the efforts of so many to make sure that we can provide services for so many that come our way. The fundraisers, donations, grants, and community efforts mean we are able to provide thousands of nights of shelter and tens of thousands of support services for some of those in our community most in need," Laurent said.

In the event of rain on Saturday the party will be moved indoors.
