E-40's headed to a TV screen near you. This fall, the Bay Area legend will guest-star on ABC's TV series, The Mayor. E-40 will play appear as himself on the new ABC series, which follows the exploits of young Courtney Rose (Brandon Michael Hall), who runs for mayor of Fort Grey, Calif. in order to spur his rap career.

For his part, E-40 will act as one of Courtney's local heroes whom the newly minted mayor chooses to headline the Fort Grey music festival. Fort Grey is a fictional town set in Northern California. Apparently the rapper will have some "unexpected" help from a notable vocalist as well. Should be dope.

The new show is executive-produced by Daveed Diggs, who famously contributed to Lin-Manuel Miranda's play, Hamilton. Assisting Diggs are his partners William Hutson and Jonathan Snipes from their group Clippng." For the show, the three create original rap songs that tie into the theme of each episode. Feels very Hamilton-esque, indeed.

There's no word on which episode E-40 will be appearing in, but we do know he will be showing up to take part in the storyline we describe above. ABC airs The Mayor on Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. EST. Stay tuned for more details, and while you're doing that, check out E-40's verse on Keak Da Sneak's new song, "Ima Keep It Goin'."
