Down Some Dogs And Help Harvest Regional Food Bank In Texarkana

Harvest Texarkana will be holding a "Hot Dog Eating Competition" this Friday with all proceeds benefitting The Harvest Regional Food Bank In Texarkana.

This is what the Harvest Regional Food ban had to say about this fundraiser:

Come out and enter, or just watch, the first annual hot dog eating contest at Hopkins Icehouse on August 26, beginning at 5:00 PM.

$5 door cover
$20 individual entry
$50 team entry (4 people)

Prizes for 1st place winner in each category.

Ok, so I know the hot dog eating contest will not be this serious but did you know that Joey Chesnut just ate 63 hotdogs at the most recent Nathans Hot Dog Eating Contest? Check out this crazy video.

Hopkins Icehouse is located in the new "Entertainment District" in historic downtown Texarkana. Here is a little history of Hopkins:

This building was built in the early 1900s. Legend has it that it was a Ford dealership and you are sitting in the “showroom.”  Roy D Hopkins Feed & Seed began business here on January 2, 1936, and closed in 2007. That’s when George Dodson & David Jones purchased the property.
