
Store Near Luckenbach Sells Winning Billion Dollar Powerball Ticket
It took almost the entire summer, but someone has finally won the Powerball jackpot.
Actually, two people have won.
Where The Jackpot Tickets Were Sold
Winning tickets were sold in Texas and Missouri. Those two ticket holders will split the second-largest Powerball jackpot in history ($1.787 billion). In 2022, the Powerball jackpot spiked to $2.04 billion before being won by a single ticket holder in California.
Each winner of Saturday's Powerball drawing can take a lump sum payout of $410 million, before taxes.

The winning numbers were 11, 23, 44, 61, and 62, with a Powerball number of 17.
The winning Texas ticket was sold at a recently opened Big's Convenience Store located just east of Fredericksburg, just a few miles away from Luckenbach.
Other Big Texas Winners
Nationwide, a staggering 20 Powerball players matched all five of the non-Powerball numbers, giving each a $1 million payout.
3 of those winning tickets were sold in Texas.
- Austin - 7-Eleven Convenience Store, 10207 Lake Creek Parkway
- Midlothian - Murphy USA, 100 Walton Way
- Tyler - Super Food Mart, 2431 ESE Loop 323 (photo below)
The person who bought the winning ticket in Tyler is due a $2 million payout, as the one-dollar Power Play option was purchased.
The Powerball jackpot drops to $20 million for the next drawing on Monday, September 8.
Mega Millions Continues to Grow
The next Mega Millions drawing is coming up on Tuesday, September 9. That jackpot is now up to $358 million.
The last time somebody won the Mega Millions jackpot was on June 27. That payout was worth $348 million. The winning ticket was sold in Virginia.
