• Air Traffic Controller at Little Rock AFB
  • Pilot Report - Extreme Atlitude and Speed
  • 25 Orbs During Northern Lights
  • High-Speed Maneuvers

The National UFO Reporting Center recorded 36 UFO/UAP sightings over the Great State of Arkansas during 2024. As usual, some are more intriguing than others, and some are probably best explained by drone activity, Starlink satellites, and even a Chinese Lantern.

Below are a few summaries of the most interesting head-scratchers of 2024 over Arkansas

Bright Object Spotted Near Little Rock AFB, Discussed by Pilots

An air traffic controller at Little Rock Air Force Base reported observing a bright white object moving slowly southward in the western sky. The sighting, which occurred while the controller was working alone in the tower, was also discussed by several pilots over the emergency frequency. One pilot initially suggested it was a rocket, but radar showed no aircraft in the area.

At one point, the object appeared to emit a cloud resembling a smoke ring, which moved through the air as the light followed. The event lasted approximately three minutes before the object faded from view. While one pilot reported it had exploded, the controller did not witness an explosion. A clear video of the incident was captured and later shown to a co-worker, who was reportedly amazed by the footage. However, I was not able to get the video to play. Maybe you will do better.

Pilot Reports Five Rapidly Moving Lights Over Arkansas

A pilot en route to Little Rock, Arkansas, reported witnessing five unidentified lights at extreme altitudes. According to the report, the lights first appeared around 11:45 p.m. Eastern Time, tracking south at estimated speeds exceeding Mach 5. The objects, observed at altitudes above 100,000 feet, displayed erratic movements, including abrupt stops and rapid directional changes from a southerly course to a northeasterly track.

At times, up to four lights were visible simultaneously, with one appearing significantly brighter or closer than the others. The phenomenon continued until the flight reached Little Rock. The pilot noted that similar lights had been reported regularly beginning at 9 p.m. Eastern and were frequently discussed on aviation radios in recent months.

Witness Reports 25 Orbs Hovering Over Northwestern Arkansas

A witness in northwestern Arkansas reported seeing approximately 25 glowing orbs in the night sky, moving both horizontally and vertically in a controlled manner. The sighting occurred during a meteor shower and coincided with an unexpected display of the northern lights. Unlike the meteors, the orbs did not move erratically but faded in and out as they hovered. The objects began appearing shortly after the aurora emerged, adding to the unusual nature of the event. The witness was able to capture both video and photos of the phenomenon.

UFO Sighting Over Vilonia: Witness Captures High-Speed Maneuvers

In the early hours of September 18, 2024, a witness in Vilonia, Arkansas, reported observing multiple unidentified craft moving at extreme speeds, "barely within the range of human perception." The objects exhibited rapid directional changes before fading from view. Surprisingly, the witness was able to capture clear images of two UFOs in a single frame, showing them in different phases of movement. Subsequent photos appeared to display structured fireball-like formations and contrail patterns suggesting a possible pulse-drive propulsion system. One image reportedly revealed underlying structural elements of the object, resembling a monochromatic topographical outline.
