Mark your calendar! A longtime community tradition is returning to the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana this fall.

UAHT will host its 33rd Annual Community Fish & Chicken Fry on Thursday, September 24, from 4:30 PM to 7 PM. The drive-thru event has become a real favorite across Hempstead, Nevada, Miller, and Lafayette counties. And it's no wonder, serving up crispy fried fish from the Hope Lions Club and Tyson chicken without guests ever having to leave their vehicles.

This event will once again be drive-thru only, with pickup available at the Rapert Library entrance through the main campus drive near the university's electronic sign.

Plates will be $15 each and can be purchased with cash, check, or card. Drinks will not be included.

Supporting Student Scholarships at UAHT

Proceeds from the annual fundraiser benefit the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana Foundation and help provide scholarships for students, including the U CAN Scholarship program.

The scholarship offers a free three-credit-hour course to eligible residents of Hempstead, Nevada, Miller, and Lafayette counties in Arkansas who have not attended college in the past two years and have not already earned an associate degree or higher.

Eligible students may use the scholarship for a course during the upcoming semester. The scholarship is limited to two semesters.

Advance tickets for the annual Fish & Chicken Fry are available online, but plates may also be purchased in the drive-thru while supplies last.
