‘Gone With The Wind’ Comes to the Big Screen in Texarkana
If you love to watch old movies like I do, then you don't want to miss the special showings of the classic 1939 movie Gone With The Wind at Cinemark 14 in Texarkana.
The event is put on by Fathom Entertainment, and it's always such a treat to see these classic movies the way they were meant to be seen, on the big screen.

The movie stars Clark Gable and Vivian Leigh, and takes place right before and during the Civil War. The movie centers around a spoiled young woman, Scarlett O'Hara, who gets everything she could want or need, except for the man she wants. This is an epic movie and won 10 Academy Awards
Why You Should See This Movie on The Big Screen
When these movies were made, most households did not have TVs. Filmmakers and Hollywood studios thought these films would only ever be shown on big movie screens, so that's the way they filmed them. People could catch every detail, every sound. By the 1970s, old movies started airing on TV. And they are still fantastic to see, but to see them at the movies? It's an amazing experience.

When I was in college in Denton, I found out that Gone With The Wind was playing at a theater in Dallas. I came home and took my mother to see it. It was a wonderful experience for both my mother and me. As we were leaving the theater, we heard two elderly women say that it was just as wonderful as the first time they saw it in 1939!
If you want to be totally immersed in this classic on the big screen, I highly recommend it. The colors and the sound are so much better than watching it on TV. Even if you've seen the movie a thousand times, it'll be like seeing it for the very first time.
