
Magnolia, Arkansas Man Dies After Officer-Involved Shooting – State Police Investigating
A state investigation is underway after a Magnolia, Arkansas, man shot earlier this month by a Magnolia Police Department officer died from his injuries. Authorities say all findings will be reviewed by the Columbia County Prosecutor’s Office, which will ultimately decide whether the officer’s actions were lawful under Arkansas statutes.
Incident on South Fredrick Road in Magnolia
According to preliminary information from the Arkansas State Police, the incident began around 1:40 PM on November 9, 2025. A Magnolia Police Department officer was patrolling along South Fredrick Road when he encountered 53-year-old Michael Green of Magnolia.

Investigators report that Green allegedly drew a firearm and fired toward the officer. The officer returned fire, striking Green multiple times. No officers or bystanders were reported injured during the gunfire exchange.
Green Was Airlifted
Green was airlifted to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock for emergency treatment. Despite medical efforts, authorities say he died 10 days later from his injuries on November 19. His body will now be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for an examination to determine the official cause and manner of death.
Arkansas State Police Investigation Continues
At the request of the Magnolia Police Department, the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division has taken the lead on the investigation. Special agents will compile a full case file for prosecutors to review once the fact-finding phase is complete.
