Texarkana Chamber to Spotlight Region’s Lithium Future at State of Lithium Event
The Texarkana USA Regional Chamber of Commerce will host its inaugural State of Lithium event on Wednesday, July 15, giving business leaders, elected officials, educators, and community members a closer look at one of the fastest-growing industries in Arkansas and Texas.
The luncheon will be held from 11:30 AM to 1 PM at the Hilton Garden Inn and Texarkana Convention Center, with doors opening at 11 AM.
Learning About the Lithium Industry
The event comes as lithium development continues to expand within the Smackover Formation, a geologic region that stretches beneath parts of Arkansas and Texas and is attracting major investment for domestic lithium production.
Attendees will begin with a Lithium 101 presentation covering the basics of lithium, how it is extracted, its growing importance in battery technology, and its role in the nation's energy future.
Expert Panels to Discuss Regional Impact
The program will also feature two expert panel discussions focusing on topics including innovation, workforce development, infrastructure, economic growth, and the future of lithium production in the region.
Panelists include representatives from The Venture Center, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, International Battery Metals, the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce, EnergyX, ExxonMobil, and Chevron New Energies.

- President and CEO of the Arkansas Chamber of Commerce, Randy Zook.
- Executive Director and CEO at TexAmericas Center, Scott Norton.
"State of Lithium is about bringing together experts and our community to better understand an industry that has the potential to shape the future of our region for decades to come," said Texarkana USA Regional Chamber President and CEO Robin Hickerson.

The Chamber says the event is designed to provide factual, educational information while exploring the opportunities and challenges presented by the rapidly growing lithium industry.
