Texarkana Felon Arrested for Discharging Firearm and More Wednesday
Texarkana Texas Police are reporting that a local man, who has been in trouble with the law before, has been arrested for discharging a handgun Wednesday morning.
The Texarkana Texas Police Department (TTPD) reported on its Facebook Page about the incident on Friday afternoon. The report doesn't specify a time, just early Wednesday morning, 911 calls started coming in about someone shooting a gun around the 900 block of Texas Blvd.
One of the callers told us that the shooter was a guy in a ski mask and wearing a black jacket who was last seen running toward Main Street. We searched the area and found Terrel Coleman hiding in the bushes on the south side of one of the buildings in the 800 block of Main Street. When we told him to stand up, we saw a black jacket, ski mask, and a 9mm pistol lying on the ground right beside him. We also found nine spent 9mm rounds in the immediate area and three more bullets still in the gun's magazine.
It's no surprise that the "man in the bushes" surrounded by evidence to the contrary, tried to deny any of it was his. TTPD says all the evidence pointed to him being the perpetrator, and the handgun had been previously reported stolen, Coleman is also a convicted felon.
Terrel Coleman (31) was arrested for Discharging a Firearm, Theft of a Firearm, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. He was then booked into the Bi-State Jail and released on Thursday afternoon after posting his $20,581 bond.
