It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! December started with a chill and sent us a quick reminder that winter is almost here.
If you stepped out of the house Monday morning, you may have turned right back around to grab a coat. The cold weather isn’t slowing down; the Crossroads has a gloomy week of weather ahead.

First Week of December Weather

Monday night: bundle up, it’s  dropping all the way down to 37°F.
Tuesday: Expect to wake up to high 30s, but things will begin to defrost with a high of 52°F
Tuesday Night: It will chill back down with a low of 42 °F
Wednesday: Rain and thunder showers are likely.
Thursday: A gloomy week continues with a high of 63 °F and a low of 42 °F
Friday: There is a chance of showers earlier in the day, but clear for the night.

Staying safe during cold weather.

Stay warm, bundle clothing, and get ready to bust out the hot cocoa this week. The weather might be gloomy this week but it’s nothing in comparison to the Winter of 2021. Winter Storm Uri made Texans really rethink their own cold-weather preparation.
Here are a few items that would commonly come in handy during freezing cold weather. Check out the list and think about adding a few to your own.
Can opener for those canned goods! We don’t want a pantry full of food but no way to open it.
Water jugs and bottles are especially necessary when pipes freeze up.
Batteries like AA and AAA are commonly used and can be the last thing your flashlight needs.
Charging port, but make sure it’s charged! If you know inclement weather is coming in, be sure to add some juice to that charging port or else you’ll end up with a dead phone and a dead charging port, which kind of defeats the purpose.
