J.W.’s News Update: Monday November 21, 2011

The Texarkana Arkansas City Board meets tonight. The meetings get underway at 5:30 with a City Budget Workshop, then a Texarkana Water Utilities Workshop at 6:30, followed by the regular meeting at 7pm. The public is invited to attend the open portion of tonights meetings.

No one is holding out any hope of a last minute surprise agreement to cut $1.2 trillion dollars in deficits over the next decade. The special bi-partisan " supercommittee" of Congress is expected to call it quits today with no agreement. No agreement is supposed  to mean spending reductions across the board starting in 2013.

The Dallas Cowboys improved to 6-4 with an overtime victory yesterday in D.C. against the Redskins. Next up is the Thanksgiving Day game at home vs. the Miami Dolphins.
