J.W.’s News Update: Thursday June 30, 2011

Good Thursday, Here are some stories making headlines today:

The Arkansas Higway Department along with the city of Texarkana, Arkansas and the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce held a public discussion informational hearing on Interstate 49  today.

Participants were shown a birds eye view from a helicopter by Don Ruggles of construction of I-49 in Northwest Louisiana. Meanwhile Scott Bennett with the Arkansas Highway Department says construction on Interstate 49 from Doddridge to the Louisiana State Line will be complete by around 2015 and Louisiana will match it from the south.

Also construction of the extension of Loop 245 to Highway 71 north of Texarkana will be complete by mid 2013 or earlier.
