J.W.’s News Update: Tuesday November 1st, 2011

The Bowie County Texas Sheriffs Race is about to heat up. Mike Landers has announced his intention to run in the Republican Primary next spring. Landers says he will kick his campaign off with an event at Smokey Joes Restaurant in Nash Texas at 9 am on November 12th. The public is invited to attend.

The Current Bowie County Sheriff James Prince ran on the Democratic Ballot.

The Taste of Home Cooking School is happening this evening at the Four States Fairgrounds in Texarkana. Doors open at 4 pm and the show starts at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $12 dollars and will be sold at the door this evening.

In Sports:

Congratulations to the Texas High Tigers who are the winners of this years Kicker Cup City Championship  Trophy. The Tigers will finish the regulars season with the best overall record in town at 7-3.  The L-E Leopards who won the title last year will finish 2nd with a 6-4 record.

A trophy presentation will be held at the Texas High Playoff Pep Rally next week.
