The Texarkana Arkansas Police say one of their cruisers was involved in an accident. Authorities say two officers were headed north in the 800 block of East Street when they were struck by a vehicle exiting a business driveway. The driver of the other car was cited for failure to yield and for no seat belt.

Three juvenile females and the two police officers were all taken to Wadley Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

The extreme & dangerous heat continues across the Four States Area. Excessive Heat Warnings continue in effect through tommorrow. High temperatures will be approaching 110 degrees. Texarkana has set records for daytime highs and nightime high mininum lows over the past couple of days. The overall highest temperature ever recorded in Texarkana was 117 degrees set on August 10, 1936.

Arkansas Finance Officials say the state began its fiscal year with revenues coming in lower than they expected after a drop in sales tax collections. The Department of Finance and Administration says the state's next available revenues in July totaled $377 million dollars. That's $6.4 million above last year, but $2.4 million dollars less than officials had forecast.
