The Texarkana, Texas Police Department has begun registration for this year’s National Night Out, which is scheduled for Tuesday, October 4, 2016.

National Night Out is an annual event designed to strengthen our community by encouraging neighbors to develop stronger relationships with each other and their law enforcement partners. Neighborhoods throughout Texarkana will be joining forces that evening to send a clear message to criminals that they are not welcome in our neighborhoods. This year's event starts at 6PM.

Chief Dan Shiner encourages every resident to participate in this event.

“Participation is as easy as turning on your porch light, locking your doors, and spending time outside with your neighbors.” Residents who would like police officers and representatives from other city departments to attend their neighborhood party are asked to register their event online or by calling 903-798-3116 by September 29.

Registered events will receive a National Night Out resource packet to help plan their event. For more information, residents can contact the Texarkana, Texas Police Department at 903-798-3116
