Even though I tried with all my might to mess it up, I am happy to report that the Classifier didn't beat me this time!

The days are getting warmer and longer and as we start a new month it's time once again build the stages then run and gun our way through them in Texarkana Gun Club's April USPSA match!

A domestic dispute turned violent as three people were shot in Texarkana, Texas

Bangin' and Clangin' this past weekend in the April Steel Challenge at the Texarkana Gun Club was great! If you were there you know that already, if you weren't, bummer!

The bane of my USPSA shooting existence is the "Classifier" stage! I don't know what mental block I have on that particular stage but for some stupid reason I screw it up every month.

Well thanks to boy-child's baseball and many other duties to perform there just hasn't been any time for practice the last couple of weeks between the March Steel Challenge and this Saturday's USPSA match. What can I say, life keeps me busy, as it does us all.

We may be breaking out the lifeboats now but believe it or not, we didn't get rained out on the second Saturday of March! Our plans were to shoot the Steel Challenge match even if it was raining Saturday March 10th, but to all of our surprise we ended up with a fantastic day to shoot.

What a great day for shooting and a terrific turnout for our very first USPSA/IPSC match for 2012 at the Texarkana Gun Club. Last Saturday started off a little cool, but it quickly turned into bright sunshine and mild temperatures that set the tone for a fun day of shooting. 2012 - A year that I hope will bring great improvement to my competitive shooting. I'm loading my own ammo now, my gun has been virtually flawless in it's operation with just a hiccup or two here and there. So really, it's all me now.

C-C-C-COLD! OK, weather-wise last Saturday could have been better. It was 26 degrees and cloudy when we arrived at the Texarkana Gun Club for the very first Steel Challenge match, and actually got colder before the morning was over if you can believe that. But even though it was a "bit nippy" out, we still had 26 shooters in our first match attempt of this kind.

Remember Tommy Jordan, the father who shot his teenage daughter's laptop when she dissed him and her mother on her facebook page? Well it was bound to happen, and I knew it would as soon as I saw the video, Mr. Jordan was paid a visit by Child Protective Services and the Police.

Last night my son Tyler and I finished the first 100 rounds (pictured below) of hand-loaded ammunition just in time for this weekends first ever Steel Challenge match at the Texarkana Gun Club.
