Tanker Truck Spill Forces School to Close

An accident involving a gasoline tanker truck has forced Liberty-Eylau officials to close the Rock School Campus which houses the Kindergarter and 1st grade students. The rest of the school district is open as usual today.

The Texas Department of Public safety is working the clear the wreckage caused when the big rig struck a utility pole and brought the pole and power lines down and spilt gasoline. Highway 59 between Kings Highway and FM 2516 is closed to traffic. No word on the extent of injuries to the driver. Roads were wet at the time of the 5:20 am accident.
