The Texarkana College Foundation Is Helping Students Pursue Their Dreams

It's no secret that workers who have a college degree generally have a higher earning potential, improved job security, and more opportunities for professional growth and development than those without one.

However, there are several risk factors and financial barriers that prevent many students from pursuing higher education, especially students who are minorities and/or come from low-income families.

Luckily, there are options such as the Texarkana College Foundation for students who need financial support so that they can receive a degree or credential that will lead them down the pathway of advancement.

In the last year, over 6,700 students passed through Texarkana College, which awarded over 730 degrees and certificates for the local workforce including nurses, educators, and electricians.

Texarkana College offers 22 academic programs and 12 workforce programs with an average annual tuition and fee cost of $2,980 per year. For comparison, that's $6,869 less than the average 4-year public university in Texas and $14,593 less than the average 4-year private university in our state.

Plus, Texarkana College ranked in the top 5 of all Texas community colleges for 3-year and 4-year completion rates.

80% of students at Texarkana College require financial aid or scholarship support to complete their degree or certification and were able to do so with the help of the Texarkana College Foundation, which is made possible by generous donations from the local community.
