Texarkana Firefighters Fight Early Morning Blaze

Texarkana Arkansas Firefighters were busy early this morning fighting a residential fire near North Heights Junior High School.

Texarkana Arkansas Fire Marshall Stephen Johnson says it was a vacant structure at 208 Georgian Terrace. Firefighters were called to the scene just before 6AM and were  there for a large part of the morning.

Johnson says when firefighters arrived on scene there were heavy flames showing from the house.  The house appears to be a total loss.  There are no injuries and no one was at home at the time of the fire.  Even though the house is vacant, it still had electrical and natural gas services

The investigation into what started the blaze is underway.
