The Texarkana Police Department arrested Timothy Brooks, 37, of Texarkana, Ark., for Driving While Intoxicated (three or more prior convictions) and Possession of Controlled Substance (greater than 400 grams).

According to a police press release, Brooks was stopped by officers at approximately 12:45PM today, March 21, in the 200 block of Connella Street. After police say they determined he was intoxicated, Brooks was arrested for DWI without incident. Officers then say they found a plastic gallon jug labeled “Sno Ball” syrup sitting in the front passenger seat of Brooks’ vehicle that contained more than 56 ounces of codeine syrup.

Officers also say they found evidence that Brooks had been drinking the codeine syrup from a cup just before being stopped.
