Three people were taken to a Texarkana hospital after an accident yesterday on Interstate 30 near Nash. Two of those injured remained hospitalized today.

Texarkana, Texas Police say the driver, William Earl Wilson, Jr., 30, of Hooks, Texas remains in critical condition in ICU. A passenger, Sandra Tucker, 35, is now listed in stable condition. The other passenger, Takaishia Jefferson, 37, has been released from the hospital.

Authorities say the accident occurred. shortly after 2PM Tuesday. Officers received a report that a vehicle had left the roadway and rolled several times on Westbound Interstate 30, just west of the Kings Highway overpass. The vehicle came to rest upside down on the side of the road.

Police say Wilson was not wearing a safety belt and was ejected from the vehicle, landing in a water-filled ditch some 50 feet past where the vehicle came to a rest.

Investigators determined that Wilson was apparently involved in an argument with one of the passengers just prior to the crash, which likely led to him driving erratically. He swerved to the right and lost control of the vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway and flip several times.

Traffic on Westbound I-30 was narrowed to one lane for almost two hours while officers conducted their investigation and the vehicle was removed.

The investigation continues.  No citations have been issued.
