Walker Chapel C.M.E. Church To Celebrate Lent

The Walker Chapel CME Church will host a worship celebration on Sunday March 18, 2018 at 3 p.m. The theme for the occasions is, "Jesus' Sacrifice Enable Us to Give Our Best to Lift Others Onward and Upward. Together We Have, Together We Will."

Reverend Anthony L. Ware and The Walker Chapel CME Church family are inviting the city of Texarkana and surrounding areas to join them as they celebrate the season of Lent. According to the news release, the Ecumenical Service will highlight the value of community and acknowledge persons through their selfless sacrifices and love of service who have fostered unity toward the development of a greater community. 

The 52nd Bishop of the CME Church, Bishop Henry M. Williamson, Sr. is slated to be the keynote speaker. Bishop Williamson's jurisdictional area covers the states of Arkansas and Tennessee. He is the founder and CEO of One Church One School, Inc.
