The coronavirus pandemic continues to take its toll on Texarkana annual events. The latest of these events is the upcoming 2020 "Dine on the Line" normally held in October.

According to Main Street Texarkana executive director Ina McDowell, the annual 2020 Dine on the Line has been canceled for this year. This would have marked the 6th annual Dine on the Line to benefit Main Street Texarkana. However, the annual Main Street Parade is still scheduled to go on at this time.

Dine on the Line is a festival event that brought Texarkana citizens together to enjoy a catered dinner right down the middle of State Line in front of the Post Office. Attendees also enjoyed a wine and beer garden and live entertainment from a local band. This event was instrumental in bringing the community together on both sides of the twin cities Arkansas and Texas. Both Mayors of Texarkana would then give a small speech with a leadoff toast of the town. For the past two years, I was given the honor to help MC some of the events at Dine on the Line.
