A Night Out With the Divas of Southern Soul

Southern Soul is a really big thing in the area. So A Night Out With the Divas of Southern Soul has to make for one epic night.

I grew up in a household with parents whose music genre preferences differed quite a bit. My mom loved R&B and limited rap. My dad, on the other hand, wanted no parts of rap and could take or leave R&B as long as you he had his blues. Southern Soul, in my humble opinion, is a spin-off of Blues that's more modern and relatable to us 70's and up babies. So, I like it! Now, I don't want to hear it every day, but I can appreciate a night of good 'ol Southern Soul.

Well, this weekend I'll have my opportunity to do just that at A Night Out With The Divas of Southern Soul.  The evening will consist of the soulful sounds of Ms. Jody, The Soul Child, and Jesi Terrell.  I'll admit I'm a bit excited to see what the Divas of Southern Soul have to offer this Saturday at On The Boulevard.
