Carrie Fisher shook up galaxies far and wide yesterday (November 15) when she revealed she and Star Wars co-star Harrison Ford had an intense romance on the film's 1976 set when she was 19 and he was 34. And in case you're wondering — no, she's got absolutely no guilt about unearthing the decades-old love affair.

In a follow-up interview with People published today (November 16), Fisher said — considering the relationship is nearly a half-century old — it was totally fair game to cover in her forthcoming book The Princess Diarist.

"It’s been forty years!" she said. "I didn’t say anything to anybody for years but it’s not like anyone’s deeply affected by it anymore...How much longer could I wait?"

Fisher added she had no idea whether Ford was, indeed, content with her latest admission, but insisted she didn't mean any harm by letting the cat out of the bag. She sent him a galley copy of her book as a means of due diligence, but isn't sure that he's read it.

"I would never want to embarrass him,” she said. “I was so inexperienced, but I trusted something about him. He was kind.”
