This poor little puppy was just worn out from all of the fleas crawling all over him. I could not believe how many fleas were on such a small dog.

Ernie is a pocket-size Pitty. He is a funny dog that likes to run around and check out all the smells then come back to check in on his human. Ernie is a happy and gentle dog that is great on a leash. His happiness is contagious!

Have you ever watched a film that actually took you a few minutes to recover from before you could start expressing any feelings about it? There have only been a few for me, "American Sniper," "Saving Private Ryan" and this one.

Roxy is a one year old border collie and beagle mix that has already been spayed and she is house trained too! She is currently at the animal shelter in Texarkana. She is a very sweet and fun pup. She plays well with others and even a pig!

Our featured pet this week is a standard schnauzer mix female. She is beautiful with brindle colored legs and a black colored body. She is very sweet and playful. Her name is Tonya and she is pretty young. She will be very easy to train because she is eager to learn.

Our featured pet this week is a white pit pup that is full of sweet and fun personality. His name is Raccoon. He is very smart and already knows how to play fetch. When he brings the toy or whatever you throw for him to fetch, he will sit and drop it at your feet.

Jynx is a super laid back kitty that would love to be your house companion. Jynx is smaller than the normal size cat too. She came to the shelter as a stray. If they could only talk and tell us where they lived or what has happened to them.

Gambit is the most adorable puppy. He is just a smidge bigger than Peanut, the shelter's office mascot. Gambit weighs approximately 15 pounds. He is a brindle mix pup. His ears look like they will stand up soon too.

The Animal Care and Adoption Center in Texarkana, Ark., is our only animal shelter in town. They have a few hundred dogs and cats that need to be reclaimed or adopted. Room is always an issue at a city animal shelter. We feature an animal each week to help get the word out about many of these great pets. This week we are showcasing a Black Lab mix named Ashley. She is a fun-loving, water-splashing

Turbo is a mix of an English bulldog and a mountain cur, which makes him a very interesting dog. He is approximately 1 and-a-half years old. He has a wonderful personality and loves his people.

This sweet shepherd mix is between one and two years old. She is very frightened to be at the shelter and would do so much better if she was in a home. She walks great on a leash and appears to be very healthy. She loves affection.

Alfie is just a brown dog and that is what caught my eye because I knew he would be passed over for more colorful dogs but this is what I learned about him yesterday. He is calm, sweet, smart and respectful. He also appears to be house trained.
