CHRISTUS St. Micheal Health System, in effort to promote health and wellness, will host the annual Four States Triathlon on April 28, at 8 AM at Bringle Lake. 

The Four States Triathlon, for 19 years, had been one of the premier spring triathlons in the four states area.

 

Mike Riley, CHRISTUS St. Micheal Health & Fitness Center Manger said in a news release. He also shared that the event feel victim to local flooding and race course (road) damage, unfortunately, for the two years in a row.

After searching for another race venue CHRISTUS St. Micheal decision makers and Texarkana Texas City leaders decided to move the triathlon to Bringle Lake in Texarkana, which is the ideal outdoor for sports and recreation. It's located across from University Avenue and Texas A&M - Texarkana.

The race course is similar in distance as the previous year's course, consisting of a 600-yard swim, a 14=mile bike (mostly flat, loop course) and a 3-mile run. According to the news release,each team will have one swimmer, one bicyclist, and one runner competing in one sport.

The triathlon boasts promises to have great food,music and door prizes post-race.
