Classic Gaming Without Digging Out The Old Atari

Modern computer or console gaming is quite amazing when you look at the graphics and shading and real-world physics. The amount of combined brain and computer power, art, motion picture quality imaging and designing that goes into creation of just one game these days is simply astonishing. Heck my phone has more computing power than all the computers on the Command Module and LEM (Lunar Excursion Module) of Apollo 11 combined.

That's the one that put man on the moon by the way. So for today's youngsters to go back and look at games created when I was growing up is almost silly, might keep them occupied and amused for five seconds at best.

Children of the 60's and 70's, like me, were raised on electronic ground-breaking games like Pong, Donky Kong, Pac Man, Dig Dug and Asteroids, and a lot of those required us dropping a quarter into the machine to play it for three minutes or so. The games are much more sophisticated now, but you know what, I think some of those old games are still pretty cool. At least for a little while.
