UPDATE: It was announced this morning that Steve Harvey will host this iconic Verzuz match-up!

Original Story: Legendary groups Earth, Wind & Fire and The Isley Brothers are set to face off in the next episode of VERZUZ.

On April 4, two of the most iconic bands will be in the same place at the same time for a friendly showdown. I was scrolling on my Instagram page when I ran across the Verzuz post announcing that the two legendary groups would take stage TOGETHER for the first time ever.

The Isley Brothers was formed in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1954 and was originally a vocal trio consisting of brothers O'Kelly Jr., Rudolph and Ronald Isley. Shortly later, another brother named Vernon joined the group before his life was taken in a hit-and-run. Earth, Wind & Fire was formed in 1969 in Chicago by Maurice White. The two groups have made hits for decades that transition generations, race and gender. To put the two on the same stage for a versus battle was genius.
