With everything that's going on in the nation, let's not forget that June is African American Music Appreciation Month! Created by President Jimmy Carter in 1979, this month celebrates the African American musical influences that comprise an essential part of our nation’s treasured cultural heritage.Formerly called National Black Music Month, this celebration of African American musical contributions is re-established annually by presidential proclamation.

So this month IMMERSE yourself in the music of your favorite black musicians.  Discover new sounds and genres while revisiting long lost loves.  Whether it’s classic jazz or smoky blues or some fast rhythms and rhyming raps, let the singers and songwriters speak to you. LET'S CELEBRATE!!
