Navigating the I-30 Detour, What Texarkana Drivers Need to Know This Week
Just a heads up! I know all this work on I-30 can be a pain, but when it's over? It will have been so worth it! But, unfortunately, it is not over and done just yet. If you are driving on I-30 in Texarkana this week, please be aware that the westbound lanes will be closed at night this week.

The Texas Department of Transportation says both of the westbound lanes of I-30 are scheduled to close around 8 PM Wednesday, May 20, and remain closed until 8 AM Thursday, May 21. Officials say the schedule could change due to weather or other unexpected issues. Texarkana has a really good chance of rain all this week.

During the closure, westbound traffic will be diverted to the frontage road at Exit 222/Summerhill Road. You'll continue to drive along the frontage road before reentering westbound I-30 just east of Kings Highway.
