This historic town has one of the oldest buildings still standing in the downtown National Register Historic District the Crown Hotel built in 1881 as the Lakeside. Siloam Springs first began getting attention in the late 19th century as a medical tourism destination due to the healing waters of Sager Creek, which runs across the border into Oklahoma. The town is named after the miraculous waters of the Siloam Pool from the bible's New Testament book of John.
