Minerpalooza Returns to UTEP With Free Music, Food and Fun Friday
You know football season is back in El Paso when Minerpalooza takes over UTEP’s Centennial Plaza and that is happening this Friday, September 11th!
The annual celebration is free and open to UTEP students, families and the entire El Paso community. It runs from 6 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. and people can expect a night of live music, food, games and family-friendly fun!
When I was a UTEP student, Minerpalooza was one of my favorite events to go to with my son because it was a way for me to show my son how fun college life can be!

Get Ready To Dance At This Year’s Minerpalooza
This year’s entertainment lineup is bringing plenty of Borderland flavor, including cumbia and Latin-pop performances.
Darian Amant will headline the evening with a Latin-pop set, while El Paso-based cumbia group Frontera Bugalu will keep the crowd moving. The Jezzika Sax Experience will add upbeat saxophone sounds to the festivities, and DJ Ruub, the student winner of UTEP’s inaugural Battle of the DJs competition, will also take the stage.

In addition to the music, attendees can check out local makers, food vendors, games and activity booths. Tickets are required for activities in the main parking lot and attractions at Pete’s Playground. Tickets cost $1 each, with activities requiring between one and five tickets. Credit and debit cards are accepted, but cash will not be accepted.
Free parking will be available at several campus lots and garages, including Schuster Lots 2, 3 and 4, the Schuster Parking Garage, and Sun Bowl Lots 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8. ADA parking is available at University 3 Lot near the Liberal Arts Building.
One important reminder: UTEP’s clear bag policy will be strictly enforced when entering Centennial Plaza.
So grab the family, bring your dancing shoes and get ready to celebrate Minerpalooza!
