Jennifer Lopez is slated to receive The MICHAEL JACKSON VIDEO VANGUARD AWARD at the MTV Music Awards next month.

In an interview, with MTV's Sway Calloway, Lopez reflected on her youth and growing up in the MTV era. She said,

I was watching all the way back from Tina Turner, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, and Janet Jackson, and Micheal [Jackson}... all of them. They were my inspirations to get into the music business, to do what I did. Their videos inspired me to do the videos I did. Now, to be 20 years in and here and winning this award.... it's just mind blowing.

In addition to being Jenny From The Block and recieving this award, Lopez has sold over 80 million records worldwide and has three #1 albums to her name. She wil perform at this year's live show for the first time since 2001. She is also nominated for two "VMAs" for her most recent single, "Dinero."

The VMAs will air live on MTV from Radio City Music Hall on Monday, Aug. 20 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
