Three Men Charged With Providing Drugs That Killed Mac Miller: Report
Three men have now reportedly been charged with selling Mac Miller the drugs that ultimately led to his death.
According to a report the Associated Press published Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 2), Cameron James Pettit, Stephen Walter and Ryan Reavis have all been charged with selling Miller cocaine and fentanyl-laced oxycodone pills that killed the rapper. The three men had previously been arrested for and charged with drug-related offenses, but now they've been hit with the allegation that the drugs they sold killed Miller, who died of an accidental overdose on alcohol, cocaine and fentanyl on Sept. 7, 2018.
Pettit was arrested on Sept. 4. He was charged with one count of distribution of a controlled substance. Meanwhile, Reavis was reportedly arrested on Sept. 7 and charged with fraud and drug and gun possession charges. The third person to be arrested in connection to Miller's death is Walter, who was arrested on Sept. 23 and charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.
All three men will reportedly face a minimum of 20 years in prison if convicted on the charges they face now. If convicted of charges related to Miller's death, they face life in prison without parole.
This news arrives weeks after Miller's father, Mark McCormick, spoke on the news that Pettit had been arrested.
"So they finally caught the muthafucka that sold him the drugs that killed him," McCormick told a crowd who'd gathered to remember Miller on the first anniversary of the rapper's death last month. "And we find some comfort in that. Many of us who were young, including me, experiment with drugs. But it's a different fucking world out there. All it takes is a little tiny stone of Fentanyl and cocaine and you're dead."
McCormick added, "The one thing I would say to you is don't take the risk. It's just not worth it."
