According to the Texarkana Gazette, officials are responding to a bomb threat at Redwater Elementary.

According to a Bowie County Sheriff's Department spokesman, the incident was phoned in by the district's school resource officer. Redwater Elementary students are being escorted to the parking lot to be picked up by parents as a result of the bomb threat.  Parents can turn on Highway 991 to the school's parking lot to pick up students.

Ironically, this is the second potential bomb threat in the area within the past 48 hours, as just yesterday the El Dorado bomb squad responded to a suspicious package that was covered in symbol style writing with possible wires protruding from it. As a result, one block around the Bi-State was evacuated .  Fortunately, the  bomb squad determined the package was safe to move. It has been put into a containment container and moved to a safe location for further investigation.

We will keep you posted as we learn more.
