Scents That Remind You It’s Summertime

The heat wave that has swept from coast to coast is a quick reminder that it’s summertime but what about the fun memories of the season? Childhood memories or more recent ones of fun in the sun.I can remember the summers as a child running around and playing on the slides at school when I smell Bonnie Bell lip balms. What about rain hitting the pavement on a hot day? The steamy smell that rises is so different than rain any other time of the year. Here are a few other smells to remind us of summertime:

• Freshly cut grass
• Fruity cocktails (remind me of vacations on the beach in Jamaica)
• Chlorine
• Sweet flowers, especially honeysuckle
• Tanning lotion or sunscreen
