Wish me luck peoples! This weekend is the opening weekend of our local Texarkana Gun Club USPSA (United States Practical Shooting Association) / IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation) Match.

I shot in one of these last season and just fell in love with the sport immediately. If you enjoy the shooting sports and want to do something other than just stand there and plink at targets, then running and gunning in an IPSC match just might be for you too!

The public is welcome to come out and watch, learn and hopefully one day participate in a really fun sport that almost anyone capable of handling a firearm safely can do. The TGC matches are held the first Saturday of every month through October. See the full schedule of matches at TexarkanaGunClub.org/schedule.  If you do decide to come and watch, you are required to have hearing and eye protection. The eye protection is to guard against any small fragment ricochets. Ear muffs? It's a loud sport you know.

We will be shooting rain or shine by the way.

My goal for my full first season is simply not coming in last, hopefully I can attain that one. I will reformulate mid-season and see if I need to lower my expectations or not.
