Steve Harvey Gives 100 Texarkana Families

Majic 93.3 with help from the Steve Harvey Morning Show was able to bless 100 families in Texarkana with a turkey on the table for Thanksgiving!

On National Turkey Giveaway Day (Tuesday,Nov. 21) I, along with the Majic 93.3 street team, went out into the streets of Texarkana, Texas and Arkansas and handed out turkeys to members of the community.

The first distribution location was at Miracle's Closet located at 2421 Texas boulevard, where we met dozens of residents waiting in line to receive their free turkey. At that location, the team handed out 30 turkeys to families needing that little bit of extra help for the holidays.

"If it wasn't for them, I don't think we'd be able to have a turkey for Thanksgiving," Bobbie Lollis told reporter, Heather Wright, of KTAL Channel 6 News.

The second location was at Fresh Start Barbershop located at 3000 S. Lake Dr., where the Majic 93.3 crew handed out 34 turkeys to residents in need before traveling to the Arkansas side to the final destination, Golden Lady Restaurant, where the remaining 36 turkeys were handed out to the line of residents who lined the wall of the venue.

It's a part of our culture to have a turkey on the table to carve for the family and enjoy for Thanksgiving. And the feeling of knowing that we, along with help from Steve Harvey, were able to make sure that at least 100 families in Texarkana are able to enjoy that Thanksgiving pleasure.
