A man suspected of robbing the Capitol One Bank on Texas Boulevard today has been arrested and charged with bank robbery.

44-year-old Robert Russell was arrested and charged with robbery. Russell also had other warrants.

From Texarkana Texas Police Information Officer Sergeant Brower,

On July 8th 2014, Police responded to a bank in the 4800 block of Texas Boulevard in reference to a bank robbery call.

Around12:45pm, Officers were advised that a white male suspect between the ages of 20 and 40 years old entered the bank and gave the teller a note demanding money.  The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene.  The suspect was wearing a red shirt with the word “Old Navy” on it and khaki pants.

The surveillance photo of the suspect was circulated by the news media.  Almost immediately Detectives began receiving tips.  Detectives were able to determine that the suspect was a Robert Russell, 44, of Texarkana, Arkansas.  Officers responded to a business in the 900 block of Walton Dr. and found Russell possessing a couple of items linking him to the robbery.  Russell was arrested for Robbery and some unrelated warrants and transported to jail.
