I am not now nor have I ever claimed or tried to be a "film critic", I'm just a radio dude who likes what he likes. This new short film by Ryan Connolly titled Tell, I like.

If you are partial to suspense thrillers that are Alfred Hitchcock-ian with maybe a skosh more gore then I predict you will love this 30 minute film short, Tell by Ryan Connolly. Connolly does everything but star in the film, wrote it, directed it, edited it and probably swept up when he was done. That would be the nature of the low-budget short films business I have to assume.

If you have been reading my blogs for a while, you may recall one I wrote several months ago about a YouTube.com channel for budding movie makers called FilmRiot, that's Connolly's YouTube channel. Each week he and his film friends show you how to do special effects, camera angels, even equipment rigging so you too can make movies, or at least make your movies better.

Honestly I'm amazed when film makers are able to pull off a complete story in such a short amount of time but Connolly does it very well in the thriller Tell. To me thrillers are "jumpy" movies, you know, the movies that try to startle and make you jump every few minutes and you feel like an idiot each time they do. Some are able to pull it off, some, not so much. Tell will make you jump, several times in 30 minutes, and yes, I still feel like an idiot every time I do it! But it's all part of the fun of watching movies, "jumpy" movies are entertaining movies, and Tell is definitely entertaining.

By the way, it won't cost you a dime to watch it online. Bonus!

Speaking of bonus, you can see more about the movie at Connolly's website, DoYouFeelGuilty.com.
