Texarkana Favorite Restaurant Welcomes New Head Chef

We all love our local restaurants in Texarkana. From the good-ole home cooking to the truly unique we really have a  great selection of places to experience some great food. There is one Texaerkana favorite that has something new that I want to talk about.

Twisted Fork Grill and Lounge in Texarkana is one of those off-the-beaten-path restaurants that not only have a great food and beverage selection but an ambiance that can calm your hectic day.  They offer live music, a relaxed atmosphere, and new specials every week, and did we mention the cheesecake?

Twisted Fork has a new head chef and he is Texarkana native Tyler Standridge. I had a chance to talk to the recent Texarkana College graduate of the culinary school about his inspiration for becoming a chef this is what he had to say:

My inspiration for becoming a chef stemmed from simply my love of cooking and developing different flavors in my dishes. I also love to make people happy and smile, cooking is my form of art to express myself to the people around me.

Of course, I had to ask what his favorite dishes are that he enjoys creating and his answer got my mouth watering:

Some of my favorite dishes to create are classic Italian dishes such as Cacio e Pepe, Penne Arrabiata, Spaghetti Carbornara and so on. The southern in me also loves to make some of our classic southern foods such as Gumbo, Jambalaya and so on.
