As was reported yesterday, The Weeknd stood by girlfriend Selena Gomez's side as she underwent a kidney transplant due to complications with lupus.

But now it's being reported that The Weeknd took his support to another level, scheduling his tour around her transplant. As People reports, Abel actually arranged his Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour around her medical emergencies.

“It was a super serious operation,” the source told People, “and all her friends were worried.”

In a touching post on Instagram, Gomez revealed that she had a kidney transplant over the summer, which was given to her by her best friend, actress  Francia Raisa.

“I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of,” Gomez wrote. “So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health. I honestly look forward to sharing with you, soon my journey through these past several months as I have always wanted to do with you. Until then I want to publicly thank my family and incredible team of doctors for everything they have done for me prior to and post-surgery.”

Gomez is recovering well. She recently delivered a heartwarming speech at Bun B's Hand in Hand telethon, which raised over $40 million for hurricane relief.
